How adventurous are you? Do you love travel, mountains and beautiful views? In that case, how does a night in a transparent capsule 400 m above the ground, which hangs from the edge of a rock, sound to you? Below you is an insanely beautiful valley in the Andes, and above you – only the stars.

It doesn’t look bad at all, and that’s the idea of the impressive Skylodge Adventure Suites, located in Peru’s Urubamba Valley.

If you are brave enough for such an experience, its “rooms” are accessible only after a 400-meter climb up a steep cliff or through a difficult mountain trail and then an extreme descent with ropes.

Getting there is a real adventure, but once you climb, you will enjoy more than impressive panoramic views of the valley below you and the river of the same name Urubamba. Thus, the expression “sleeping under the stars” acquires a completely different and extreme meaning.

The three hotel “rooms” are actually capsules made of very strong glass, which are driven into the vertical rocks. Each of them has an area of about 17 square meters, can accommodate four guests and they have everything you need to feel comfortable.

Except for TV and the internet, of course, because who would need something like that when they’re in such a situation?

In terms of safety, it is fully guaranteed, as the capsules are made of a special aluminum alloy used in the space industry and resistant to all weathering polycarbonate.

This way, visitors can be sure that they will not have to vacate the room in a very extreme way.

The hotel’s restaurant is a separate capsule that offers a gourmet experience with traditional Peruvian cuisine combined with exceptional panoramic views. However, do not rely on room service or waiters – it will be only you and the Milky Way. The food is arranged in advance and in reality the guests themselves can bring it with backpacks to the top.

There is a possibility for a glass of wine, but it is not a good idea to overdo it, as you will still have to climb back to your capsule in the dark.

The restaurant is generally open for lunch and dinner even if you are not a guest of the hotel. You just have to climb it, which means you won’t have to worry about a few extra calories in dessert.

However, staying there is not cheap at all. One night at Skylodge Adventure Suites costs over $ 400 per person. This includes transport, equipment, guides, dinner with wine and breakfast. On the other hand, a lunch at the restaurant alone will cost about $ 230.

The good thing is that the hotel is located in an area where the stay can be combined with a visit to many other tourist sites.

The world-famous Machu Picchu architectural complex is only ten kilometers away. The journey to it can start from the Urubamba Valley, at the beginning of which is the ancient Inca capital of Cusco. Against the backdrop of snow-capped mountain peaks, the fertile river valley meanders through ancient agricultural terraces and countless picturesque ruins of Indian and colonial settlements.

In reality, Skylodge is just one of the countless places in the area of Urubamba, Cusco and Machu Picchu that can be visited.

However, the hotel is not for everyone. It is only for people without fear of heights, who are more than adventurous – a hotel with one million stars.
