Women should not be faced with a choice between family and professional self-realization. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the opening of the Third Eurasian Women’s Forum. His words are quoted by the press service of the Kremlin.

“It is quite obvious that in modern conditions a woman should not be faced with a choice: either children, family, or her own professional realization,” Putin said.

In this regard, in Russia, according to the head of state, “all conditions are consistently created so that a woman after the birth of a child can start or resume her professional career at any time.”

“We have done a lot to improve the availability of places in kindergartens and nurseries. Of course, even more probably needs to be done to improve the situation here. We will continue this work, because it is important to solve the problem of each specific family, ”the President concluded.

Earlier, Putin proposed to establish monthly payments for children from three to seven years old for low-income families. These payments are assigned at the rate of 50, 75 and 100% of the regional subsistence level, taking into account the income and property of the applicants.

In April, the president announced a monthly payment that pregnant women in need could receive before giving birth. The size should be half of the subsistence minimum monthly, on average it is 6350 rubles. In addition, the president demanded to pay 100% of sick leave for childcare up to seven years inclusive.

On September 24, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova announced that after indexation, the size of maternity capital for the first child in 2024 will be 544,301 rubles, for the second – 719,274 rubles. Now the size of the maternity capital is 483,882 rubles. for the first child, and for the second it increases by 155,550 rubles.

Traditional family values are the key to development in the present and in the future, President Vladimir Putin said at the opening of the Eurasian Women’s Forum. The broadcast was hosted by the Russia 24 TV channel.

Such values, according to the president, are “dear and extremely significant” for Russian society. “Oddly enough, it sometimes causes controversy, we hear criticism in our address even in this regard,” he added.

“Of course, with the absolute need to ensure the freedoms of every person, including the freedom of self-identification, nevertheless, I am convinced that traditional family values are the most important moral support and a guarantee of successful development both in the present and in the future”, – said the head of state.

Last November, Putin said that traditional values are often the subject of speculation and “unscrupulous geopolitical games.” In July of this year, he approved an updated strategy for Russia’s national security, where among all interests the strengthening of traditional values was indicated.

Prior to that, in March, the Ministry of Education included a family studies course in school textbooks. In addition, in Art. 72 of the amended Constitution last summer included a provision defining “marriage as the union of a man and a woman.” This makes it impossible to register same-sex marriages in Russia, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Putin himself said that he treats such marriages “with caution” (because children are not born in such unions), but “with understanding.”
