Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had been revaccinated on Sunday against the coronavirus with Sputnik Light and is feeling well, TASS reported.

At a meeting with Deputy Director of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology “Gamaleya” Denis Logunov Putin said: “Today, on your recommendation, on the recommendation of your colleagues, I was vaccinated once again – with” Sputnik Light “and added that this happened two hours ago and feels normal, no complaints.

He also said he was ready to take part in a trial of a nasal form of the COVID-19 vaccine being developed by the center. After receiving information about the trials of this drug, the Russian president asked if he could participate in these studies and expressed a desire to sign a document today to give consent.

In October, Russia’s health ministry gave the Gamalea Center permission to conduct a second phase of clinical trials of a coronavirus vaccine in the form of a nasal spray. It will not eliminate the need for regular vaccination, but will be an adjunct to it, providing another barrier to infection.

In June 2021, Putin announced that he had been vaccinated with Sputnik V, also developed by the Gamalea Center. The deputy director of the center said that in kovid the effect of vaccination decreases 6-8 months after the first dose, so revaccination is necessary. But Logunov’s words the effectiveness of the drug after revaccination increases from 1.6 to 2 times.

More than 50 million Russian citizens have been vaccinated with Sputnik V, and in other countries there are nearly 120 million, Putin said at a meeting with Logunov.
