Underlining the need for justice, solidarity and peace, Parliament’s President Roberta Metsola said in a Christmas message, “I am proud that when it mattered the most, Europe united in the face of aggression and remained steadfast in our support towards Ukraine and its people.”

Reflecting that support, Parliament awarded the 2022 Sakharov Prize for freedom of thought to the brave people of Ukraine.

Find out more about how the Parliament is supporting Ukraine.

Parliament has been working to tackle the issues that affect everyone and will continue that work next year. Check out our article in the last week of December about the key topics coming up in 2023.
