Bylo učiněno rozhodnutí: Bulharsko a Rumunsko zůstávají mimo Schengen

Rada EU pro spravedlnost a vnitřní věci dnes odmítla 25 hlasy „pro“ a dvěma „proti“ návrh, aby se Bulharsko a Rumunsko připojily k Schengenu, uvedli bulharští diplomaté, kteří se setkání zúčastnili.

Návrh pro Chorvatsko byl schválen.

Bulharsko a Rumunsko pokračují jako balík a je velmi pravděpodobné, že Bukurešť v příštím hlasování požádá o oddělení od Sofie, protože pouze Rakousko je proti jejich přistoupení, zatímco proti Bulharsku jsou dvě země – Rakousko a Nizozemsko.

Minulý pátek nizozemský premiér Mark Rutte oznámil, že jeho země zablokuje Bulharsko ze Schengenu, protože stále existují obavy o ochranu EU‘s external borders. Rutte believes there is currently a risk of a migrant flow passing through Bulharsko. The PM commented that the possibility of illegally crossing the border with Turecko neboť podle jeho slov by měla být vyloučena „bankovka v hodnotě 50 eur“. Toto prohlášení vyvolalo silné reakce bulharských úřadů.

This Tuesday, Austria also announced that it would not support Bulgaria. Chancellor Karl Nehammer said that the reason was once again the migrant flow and pointed out that there are currently 75,000 illegal and undocumented migrants in Austria who have entered through the external borders of the European Union. And the Austrian Minister of Interior commented that the system in the Schengen area does not work, therefore it should not be expanded. Late yesterday, Chancellor Nehammer confirmed the country’s position.
